Ms. Russell makes her Lyric Opera debut in the company debut of the riveting new American opera, Blue. Composed by Jeanine Tesori with libretto by Tazewell Thompson, Blue receives its third premiere performance with Lyric Opera Unlimited at Lyric Opera Chicago (co-commission companies include The Glimmerglass Festival and Washington National Opera). Director by Tazewell Thompson and conducted by Viswa Subbaraman, this production marks the Midwest premiere of Blue at Chicago Shakespeare.
